Good fences make good neighbors. Bad fences are ugly. Here are a few tips for building that perfect fence that would make Bob Vila blush:
Where is that supposed to go again? When building your fence, it is important to know how far apart each post should be. Typically the distance apart each post should range from six to eight feet. Also when putting the posts in the ground, remember that at least half of it should be in the ground. High winds are not your friend if you don’t follow this tip.
Don’t waste your hard work It’s not a great idea to build your fence out of balsa wood. Using a treated lumber will give your fence staying power so it doesn’t rot at the bottom from harsh weather conditions.
Know your boundaries Before you start your fence you should know where your property lines iare and what the codes are for building a fence. If not, that nosy neighbor will get angry, make a formal complaint and have you take your fence down. This will be horrible for your public image. You will most certainly get laughed at by your other neighbors at the yearly block party. Worst of all, you will get shunned by your dog because he can’t run around your yard anymore.
